What I Like: Home Tours On Blogs

I love a good home tour. I remember as a little girl asking my mom if we could take a night walk so we could see inside of people’s homes as we went along. I know, funny to admit that publicly but I swear I wasn’t a little stalker or peeping Tom, I just loved seeing how people decorated their homes and I was only 8! It’s funny how…

Well Hello Crate & Barrel

Crate & Barrel has a great selection of things for the home currently, including these gorgeous chairs — have you noticed? I’m drooling over the mid century inspired white leather chair with that sleek chrome base because it would look great in my living room. I equally love the cobalt blue trimmed chair shown below, it’s traditional yet very modern with that amazing lacquered frame. Whoever designed that honey of a chair was clearly very clever, it’s such a hottie.

Stephanie Ryan Art + Design

I heard from a former Blogging Your Way student of mine, Stephanie Ryan, today and her news blew me away! She is an artist from Pennsylvania who has a charming etsy shop where she sells many of her sweet nature-inspired paintings and prints but, get this, Lenox picked up her designs and now she has an entire range of dinnerware available at Macy’s! Here are a few photos from her new collection at Macy’s to whet your appetite…

It’s absolutely freezing here in the northeast. In fact it’s way below freezing. So in an attempt to make you feel warm, I offer up a round up of knitted throws. Just imagine snuggling up in one of these by a roaring fire. Don’t you feel warmer already?

Which Celebrity Home Would You Love to Live In?

I was reading Curbed this morning that designer/show host Nate Berkus has his Chicago home on the market for a fat $2.65M, the same place we drooled over back in a past issue of Elle Decor magazine. Remember his gorgeous 4,000-square-foot lakeside crib? If you’re a Nate fan, of course you do. Well all this can be yours… well perhaps not all — I can’t be sure, but I’d want the full monty, it would need to be furnished with Nate’s lovely things.

Ferm Living Spring/Summer 2011

My friend is the new rep for Ferm Living in Germany so I’ve been waiting for her to share their latest catalog with me and it’s here! Jonathan Lo from Happy Mundane posted it first, so I can’t take credit, but here are some additional images that show their new collection for Spring/Summer 2011. I agree with Jonathan when it comes to some of their kids products when he said, “Move over kids, these are mine!” – for sure, Jonathan!

Organize Your Decorating Ideas With Pinterest

It’s a new year and no doubt you have many projects to take on at home but how do you stay organized when it comes to your finds? I’m decorating a few rooms in my apartment currently and have found Pinterest to be enormously helpful in this regard. What is Pinterest? When I joined, I asked the same question as I wasn’t really clear how yet another community-based cataloging site would help me. I am a blogger afterall, can’t I just blog when I find something I like? Plus, I’ve tried FFFFound, We Heart It, Polyvore, Tumblr, StumbleUpon and a bevy of other sites that have the same end goal in mind: to help you organize images on the web for free.
