Our favorite footwear and leather goods company just got a whole lot better....

Cole Haan is paying homage to it's roots and everyones classic sensibility by introducing their first vintage and denim-inspired men and women's footwear and accessories collection: Cole, Rood & Haan Co. 

I read an article in the New York Times this past Sunday about the evolution of one of America's most beloved clothing brands...Eileen Fisher.

The company enlisted IDEO a branding and design team last year to revamp the company and move them into a new direction. In this case the direction is down rather than up----- In age that is!

For all those who read my post (like one reader, Ellen) on the Anyi Lu flats...feel in love with them...but sadly realized that they just weren't in the budget---here are a few affordable alternatives that are still great and comfortable (you gotta pay a bit for the comfort factor. What's a flat without comfot?)!

I was excited to hear that uber fabulous BCBGMAXAZRIA was teaming up with the Susan G Koman for the Cure organization to produce some amazing accessories--namely a striking silk scarf and super chic sunglasses.

Social Designer: Goods for the Greater Good--- strives to spark new ideas about the issues that matter most by encouraging participants to create fun, socially-relevant graphics for t-shirts, totes and other fashion items.

Carrying around a light pair of flats is sort of a way of life when you don’t have a car. A breath of footwear fresh air, these three pairs are meant to be rolled up and stuffed in a bag.

Is it just me or does it seem like purse hooks (those little metal clips that hang on the side of tables to keep your bag off the floor) are making a comeback? I get about three pitches a week from PR girls pushing the newest and greatest versions of these peculiar objects. So is everybody hooking?

I’ll live in my light jacket for a month or so, but after that, it only comes out for strangely warm days or as a layer underneath a winter coat. So I don’t think it should cost a fortune (that winter coat is another story).

Body wash is one of those beauty products I don’t get really excited about – it sits on your skin for a few seconds (if that), and you rinse it off. So I don’t buy the uber-fancy stuff. I'd rather splurge on shoes. Which is, maybe, why I keep using the Softsoap below in lieu of opening a much more expensive sample I have sitting under the sink. Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate And Mango Infusions ($6 at Drugstore.com) This vibrant red formula has a vibrant scent that I’d also describe as juicy. Very fruity, like an intense summer dessert. Olay Bodywash Plus Tone Enriching Ribbons ($8 at Drugstore.com) This one is a cream, so it’s a good choice if you want to sneak in extra moisture. The Scoop: With decent-not-great skin that has a frustrating tendency towards blackheads and gets dry in the winter, it’s not worth it for me to deal with the irritating side effects of prescription creams.

But my skin does need some help, and this Dermalogica treatment is truly helpful. It keeps blackheads at bay, and hasn’t made my skin flaky, dry, or otherwise unattractive. In fact, after about two weeks, it’s smoother and more even than usual.
