Posted on Jan 4, 2010 10:18:49 AM  |  By HollyBecker

I'm always excited when IKEA sends the press a preview of what is to come... today I was able to view the Spring preview and I'm impressed! Would you like to take a peek at their Spring/Summer offerings which will be in stores beginning as soon as next month?

They have an exciting collection of affordable outdoor furniture -- some will fit a small city balcony and others a large patio. The first outdoor furniture collection shown above is called the Ammero and includes cushion covers that are durable and can be machine washed and prices range from $39-169 which is quite affordable. Then directly above is the Blanko collection. I love that the Blanko table has a hole in the center so that water can drain away. It is also fitted with wide feet to keep it steady on the lawn. The stools are $9.99, the chairs are $19.99 and the white table is $39.99.

IKEA always rolls out new and exciting patterns and colors in bedding, curtains, cushions and for fabric by-the-yard. Above is two of their latest, Henny which is mostly blues and white, designed by Kazuyou Nomura and the more colorful collection is by designer Emma Jones and is called Renate.

And there is a new buffet and table by Eva Lilja Löwenhielm and it is called Sjovik. How lovely and modern, practical yet playful at the same time. The buffet is $399 and measures: W46½ × D16½ × H63" and is available in white and the table is also white and is $279 and measures L76¾ × W38⅝ × H29⅛".

If you are more keen on hardwood vs. white, the pine Svalbo sideboard and table may be just what you're looking for. Both were designed by Nike Karlsson and offer plenty of options since they're made from solid wood that can be rejuvenated with a piece of sandpaper and a fresh finish over and over again or painted in your favorite color or colors. The sideboard measures W46½ × D15⅜ × H35⅜" and is $79.99 and has two shelves below the top which I find really practical for not only a kitchen but also for an entry way, and the table measures L59 × W35⅜ × H29⅛" and is $129.

In addition to all that is shown above, there are many new gadgets for the kitchen along with more fabric and outdoor furniture collections. Make sure you head to your nearest IKEA or shop online starting in February for best selection.

I really love all of the Ikea furniture. We have bought several pieces in the last few years from our local Atlanta store and for Christmas last year, my husband and I bought our 2 little ones some great Ikeas storage units for all of their toys and games. This stuff is easy to put together, simple and fits right into almost any decor.

We are really into green living at our household and it is great to see a big-box retailer such as Ikea, place such importance on the sustainable lifestyle.

Ikea does know how to design simple and appealing furniture. I like the colorful Ammero patio set for a small area. The Poang lounger looks like a chair you could nap on during a warm summer day. Nice preview.

i am so horrified that the blanko range isn't available in australia! i keep coming back to this post just to drool. i've emailed the local store to ask if they're going to get them (knowing perfectly well that they're not) and they haven't replied. :( could someone post me 10 of the teal chairs please? :)
