Have you purchased a copy of Handmade Home yet? If not, you'll want to get your hands on a copy by author/blogger/crafter Amanda Soule who just so happens to be a mother of four, too. It offers,"Simple Ways to Repurpose Old Materials into New Family Treasures" which sounds like a great topic as we head in the Autumn/Winter months when most enjoy staying in and starting new projects. This is her second book and presents 33 practical projects for the home, many that encourage participation from family members. Her first book, "The Creative Family: How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections" is another must see if you don't already own it. Here's a glimpse of Handmade Home... As already mentioned, Amanda is the author of a lovely blog, it's called SouleMama and it is where she writes about thrift, craft and the value of making your own home items. I'm excited about this book and in particular -- I want to try to make a few things once the weather turns gray and slushy outside. Do you have a copy of Handmade Home? Do you like it? Do you enjoy making things by hand for your home and for friends and family members? What projects have you finished that you are proud of? (images: amanda soule)

This is on my Amazon wish list - I keep hearing good things about it and am glad to see a few more images from inside!
I just got a sewing machine and am planning on doing a lot of simple handmade Christmas presents this year. Nothing too fancy, but some fun runners/napkins/etc for some family members.
