more than $5000...but I cannot really tell, as I believe true charity doesn't need recognition or acknowledgement...

As a retired teacher/school nurse after 30 plus years of employment in the school system, I simply cannot afford to give more. Our retirement pay is very low in this state because the funds are spent on a fancy building and furnishings for the Texas Teacher Retirement System in Austin as well as salaries for many unnecessary employees with exhorbitant salaries who are employed by the retirement system here.

I contribute between $1,000 and $2,500 annually because I just did my taxes.

$1,000 to $2,500. We used to give more before we retired. We still give the same amount to our Church, but have cut down on other charities. With nine grandchildren, we also give to various school fundraisers, Girl Scouts, etc. and to local fundraisers and charities as well.

More than $5,000 - we believe in tithing, giving first-fruits offerings, giving alms to those who are in need, and sowing financial seed. When we started tithing 8 years ago we were in a huge amount of debt, making minimum payments and barely making it week to week financially, but we tithed (10% of our gross income) by faith every week believing that God is faithful. Over the past 8 years we are completely out of debt, have had tens of thousands of dollars given to us, have had 4 vehicles given to us over the years, my husband now owns his own business, and we are able to give even more back into the kingdom of God than we ever thought possible!

Less than $500- As a single, young woman in SoCal, finding extra money for donations is pretty hard to come by. I often volunteer my time to nature, charity and fundraising events instead. But I do have a list of charities to which I plan to donate to when I am financially able.

    $3000+

    $2,500 to $5,000+
I try to tithe by contributing 1/10 of my gross income to a variety of causes: my worship community, favorite charities, political candidates, and personal donations, some anonymously to individuals. If it doesn't directly benefit me, it's part of the list. It took me over 10 years from when i decided I should tithe till the first year I actually managed it. I don't always hit my mark & sometimes the IRS doesn't believe me, but the effort gives me smiles.

    $1,000 to $2,500
Not as much as I should or want to. It does get bigger with my company matching. Right now we're in the intense day care cost phase for two kids so I look forward to some more room to increase donations in a few years.

This year, we donated more than $9,000. Almost 1/10th of our gross income. That is what we believe is required for tithing. Everything above that are considered gifts. I don't keep up with the door to door donations, fund-raising campaigns, etc. Too much trouble!!!

more than $5000. it is more blessed to give than receive. and that is really true, if given joyfully.

My husband and I are still on our first jobs with small salaries, but we give more than $5,000. We give 10% to our church and a little more to other charities. We don't do it to get into heaven or make ourselves feel good, but we know we're called to give back to God what is already his.

I don't have much money to share, so I'm working full time at a Food Bank as an Americorps*VISTA. I'm able to do much more good this way!

We are blessed with so much so we donate more than $5000 annually to church and local non-profit organizations who have a tremendous responsibility in the community.

More than $5000 per year. Most of my contributions go to my church. I also give to a church if it is requested in an obit in lieu of flowers. I give monthly to St. Judes. I also give to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Good Will and other medical research facilities.
