My Pasta Pot (tall pot with removable tall strainer pot that nests inside). Put strainer in the cooking pot, fill with water, boil, add pasta as usual. When pasta is cooked, just pull the strainer out, and water drains as you lift! No need to pour pasta through a strainer or collander & risk burns or spills. Calphalon makes a great one: "Calphalon Contemporary Stainless Steel 8-Quart Multi Pot". By far, best item I registered for!

The Kuhn Rikon "Twist and Chop". We call it the "chop chop" after one of their magazine ads. This little chopper can dice finer than any hand chopping. Perfect for onions and garlic and so easy to clean-almost unbreakable!

The Kitchen Aid large pizza cutter. Use to cut bar cookies, brownies etc. Works great on deep dish pizzas.

The Kitchen Aid shredder. Spray a little Pam or other non-stick spray lightly onto the shredder to make clean up a breeze.

A nice, sharp pizza cutter and an ice cream scooper with the little "shoe horn" thingy that pushes the ice cream out of the scoop.

Knives. Good knives are worth their weight in gold. I love my Wustof Trident set I got for my wedding almost 8 years ago.

My best tool in the kitchen is my Le Creuset oval cocotte 29 cm 4.7liters. It has to be oval so you can put a roast, a chicken almost anything. You can use it in the stove and in the oven, yes even with the plastic knob on top (well to a certain degree) I got it as a wedding gift and it is the best thing ever!! I now give it as a wedding gift to all my friends.

My Microplane grater, my French press for coffee, and Barkeepers Friend cleanser. Nothing cleans stainless and copper better than old school Barkeepers. New to my kitchen are my KitchenAid stand mixer and Cuisinart Food Processor - and those are quickly becoming necessities as well!

My very favorite pair: coffee grinder and coffee pot. Right behind those are the Cuisinart food processor and KitchenAid stand mixer. I also love Pampered Chef garlic press and mini turner, and the Oxo peeler.

I love my OXO can opener because it makes it easy to open cans & all their products are very durable. I also love Global knives they cut everything. I love bamboo cooking utensils too.

Reynold's Crock Pot Liners.....no more soaking the crock pot for a week after you use it! I love these things,

Silpat liner for baking! I haven't even over-browned anything I've baked on it. Also, since I got the baking liner, I've been replacing all my kitchen utensils with silicone.

Bath Towel and Plastic Shower Curtain!

I spread two bath towels over my kitchen table and a plastic shower curtain on the floor when my five young grandkids dye Easter eggs. Although they try to be careful, the occasional spilled cup and drops of colored water are immediately soaked up by the towels and when they're done, the towels go right into the washer and dryer and come out without stains! Also comes in handy when decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies with the kids. Cleanup is so much easier and my stress level reduced, thanks to those large towels!

My Vidalia Onion Chopper, and my mandoline slicer! Can't live without them!!

I love my skinny scrapper. I use it to clean out jars, scrap bowls, stir batters, use in my non stick skillets, spread frosting, so many uses.

Posted by: Tammy| January 20, 2008 at 11:01 AM

I absolutely love my Cuisinart food processor. It's great for doughs, dips, fillings and even grating hard cheeses. I bought mine years ago and it still works like a charm. My Kitchen-Aid hand mixer is also great.

I absolutly love my food processor, it's great for doughs, dips, greating hard cheeses, and even amking streusel. I have a Cusine Art 11 Cup, that i bought several years ago and it still works as if it were brand new.

First would have to me my kitchen aid mixer in my favorite color: pistacio green. I love to make homemade cinnamon rolls on weekends and mashed potatoes during the week. Clean up is a breeze with the diswasher and a couple of clorox wipes. Next, would have to be my microplane graters, love to grate zests, cheese, and fresh nutmeg!

Posted by: arlene| January 20, 2008 at 01:37 AM

kitchen scissors! i don't know what i would do without them.

A good knife is the best, easiest and smallest tool for everything, no need for food processors or other space-taking machines that each do only one or two things.
And just like Isobel, I love Senseo coffee maker!
