Which Health Shortcuts Do You Take?
Posted on Nov 13, 2007 6:49:35 PM  |  By SimplyStatedAdmin

Whether you’re taking an extra dose of painkiller, bare-footing it in the gym shower, slinking into bed without brushing your teeth, or simply frying up an egg that’s past the date stamped on the carton, you can’t help but hear a little voice in the back of your head saying, “You know you’re not supposed to do that.” But do these little infractions truly put your health at risk?

Emergen-C! Especially in the winter, but I try to drink it year round. You can get it at most health food stores, but Trader Joe's has the best price I know of. It really makes me feel better, as well as boosting my immune system. I try to have one in the morning, then another about 3 or 4 p.m., for that mid-afternoon boost. Some may scoff, but it sure is better for you than high-calorie and caffeine-laden coffee drinks!

I've got to admit that I don't get enough sleep. Making me prone to colds more often. Not enough time in a day.

to the last poster...you are passing the germs onto us. Please wash your hands.

I know this is gross-but unlike the previous poster, I don't always wash my hands. I barely ever get sick, though, which only perpetuates the thought that it is actually boosting my immune system!

I am quick to wash or sanitaze my hands during cold season and before and after playing with kids and kissing babies. It took some discipline to carry moist wipes with me and to not touch my mouth or nose between hand washings, but has cut down on my colds each winter and viral stomach illneses on warm months.
