Some times a good steam cleaning works - it's known for carpets - now people want to relax more and steam can clean the skin.

First thing in the morning I jump out of bed and make it up. This makes everything look better.

My hand vaccuum is my best time saving trick. it's fast it picks up dust bugs, and i always have it charging! It's a lifesaver anytime i don't feel like spending an hour vaccuuming floors too.

I will put on a sweatshirt with a large front pocket. If I see anything that needs to go, I just stuff it in my pocket. Helps with broken toy pieces that the kids can NEVER see you throw out. Just pop it in your pocket when they aren't looking!

After we use the shower or tub I use a squigy to wipe the water off then I run a towel over it quick. This helps when it comes time "really" clean the showers.

Using a lent roller on fabric lamp shades is a time saver. It picks up dust, lint and hair when a vacume doesn't complete the job!

always separate the room or space into sections, then clean, and put stuff into the right drawers, but don't try and organize before everything is put away.

how do you get the smell out of towles if you are not a bleach user?

Get a GOOD vacuum. We have a cat and dog that seem to shed twice their body weight in fur each day. Our carpets never really looked clean no matter how much we vacuumed. We bought a Dyson (pricey, but worth it) our carpets almost started looking new again. It's astonishing how much it pulls out of the carpet after just a couple of days.

There are LOTS of games you can play to make it not so bad. You can try to beat the clock. set a goal of maybe a half and hour or fifteen minutes and see how much you can get done. Or, go in a room and on little slips of paper, write down all the areas of the room you want to clean and then put them in a hat and draw them! You could also combine them and see if you can get all of them done in a certain amount of time or see how long it takes you to do all of them and make it your goal to beat it next time. Other than that, for me, I honestly like to clean. when I'm bored or something, it can be fun to just clean and have all that time to think and just be by yourself, or if there are people coming over I go into super speed mode and clean everything really fast!

For carpets I can tell you that just vacuuming your carpets every other day is the best way to have your carpet last for years. You should always clean your carpets at least once a year as well to keep them looking great. Get it done eve nif your carpets do not look bad because this will keep them in the best shape

I have gone green. I use one product to clean the whole house and other things. BASIC H - Organic - biogradeable product. a 1/4 of a teaspoon and 16 oz water. Make a mix that cleans the house.
The products are wonderful and I don't break out anymore or get headaches from the fumes.

to clean a percolator, put a tablespoon of granulated dishwasher detergent in the "basket". Perk, and rub out the grooves with a sponge. If needed, pour the soapy water into a dish to soak the removable parts. rinse well. Will be shiny like new.

Go to Flylady.net and follow her advice. I didn't think I had it in me, but FlyLady made a huge difference in the way I operate. Your house didn't get trashed in a day; it won't get cleaned in a day. Do the routines, shine your sink, and in a month, you won't recognize your home. Set your timer for 15 minutes, and you'll be surprised at how much you can get done!

I like clean bathrooms for guests that just drop by. So I keep a toilet wand and brush, chlorox wipes and spray as well as sponges and used grocery bags for emptying out the garbage in each bathroom. It takes me 5 minutes or less to clean each one and gives them a nice clean smell. As if I've been cleaning all day. Then I turn the lights down and light alot of candles!

That is very harmful to your health sharon...the steam from the shower is intensifying the fumes from the cleaning products and you are breathing those fumes in...be careful!

After the 1st load of laundry is done I take the used dryer sheet and dust the bedroom. This dryer sheet works well on lamp shades.

The best way to easily remove pet hair from furniture? Just put on a pair of rubber gloves, rub across surfaces, and dog or cat fur will easily be pulled away.

My friends think I'm crazy. I take my shower cleaning supplies to the shower with me. I clean my shower and then I shower. No more stretching to clean it.

When my Golden Retriever dogs share their beautiful fur on the furniture and vacuming doesn't completly do the trick I use either the roller lint brush or wide scotch tape.

Whenever the weather outside gets scary and the television turns to nothing but bad weather reports I get my radio and flashlight and lock myself in the bathroom. Instead of just sitting and listening to the bad weather, I clean the bathroom. It helps keep my mind off the bad weather outside.

To make vacuuming carpeted stairs easier, I use a damp cloth to wipe over each stair and hard to reach creases and corners before I vacuum. The pet hair and dust removed with a damp cloth is amazing!

my secret is this, just play your best music, and take out all the trash first. Then start dusting, so work you way top to the bottom. Throw out that clutter, I know this sounds harsh, but clutter doesn't look pretty too the eye.

Bon Ami cleanser removes scuff marks from painted walls, doors and trim (light rubbing). It removes heal marks from tile, and food stains from laminate counter tops and the stove. It also makes quick work of cleaning finger marks on switch plates, and painted cupboard doors and drawers. By now you have the picture-I clean half of my house with Bon Ami.
