A few weeks ago, while at a wedding, I saw a gaggle of bridesmaids surrounding our dear bride, surrounding a circle of visibly uncomfortable strappy sandals. Buying shoes for your wedding ensemble or bridesmaids' dress is a fun, exciting and sometimes whirlwind experience: you fall in love, you act impulsively, you worry about the consequences later. But uncomfortable wedding shoes can take their toll on a lady during a long wedding day. Some wedding shoe tips: * Chunky Helps: The chunkier the heel, the longer the wear. Same with rounded toes. Nothing beats a sexy stiletto, but if you can "make it work", all the better for your back! * Break-in: Everyone says this, but so few people do it. 12 Days to Go and Tank Top Tan Lines To Tackle

So, with 12 days to go until I get hitched, I've clearly chosen to become obsessed with one thing I feel like I can control. (i.e. Programs are being created by my cousin in Seattle, my fiancé is in charge of transportation for guests, the seamstress is tasked with making sure my dress stays up...all important things that are now out of my hands.) But the fact that I have a bit of a "farmer's tan" (read: white patches where my tank top sits) is all my own doing, and I'm frantically trying to undo it so that I don't look wacky in my strapless wedding dress. I'm normally a big sunscreen-wearer and avid shade-sitter, since my skin is fair and slightly freckly, and moreover, I don't really care for sunbathing.
