I've been thinking a lot about how varied and fashionable veils have become lately and also how just as often, brides are skipping the veil all together. It got me wondering, what are you doing with your veil? To inspire the conversation, here are some real "lookers" that have gotten my attention lately.

I often find inspiration (and learn from) my brides and their cool and creative ideas. Today I had a visit with a client right after she came back from visiting Leah C Couture Millinery where she picked up her Groom's boutonniere. Her wedding is a few weeks away, so I was a bit confused until I saw this amazing, non-floral, feathered creation. They are a little pricey, but gorgeous. It got me thinking about other cool, non-floral boutonnieres (sort of like pins for men...) at more reasonable prices or that could be DIY. I mean who says a boutonniere has to have cut flowers. I found these on Etsy at the Tinarie 21 shop. What is your groom wearing on his lapel? Are you doing anything unusual?

Shoe #1. Thank you for all your votes and, um, soleful comments. With 29 votes for the Naturalizer pair (although Julie, Jordan and Amanda seemed a bit torn!) and only one solid vote for the Taryn Rose wedgies, I think I must go with the majority. Even my mom weighed in ("wedges aren't appropriate" -- sheesh mom). I'll show you a snapshot of the shoes in action as soon as I get a pedicure. --Margit Detweiler

I know you've all been losing sleep over my quest for the perfect wedding shoe. Well friends, I have some good news. Shrieking wildly like Mary Murphy, I'm now on the HOT TAMALE TRAIN TO THE PERFECT SHOE!!!! After buying and returning seven pairs of shoes, I've finally found two I love. I'd scoured Barney's, Bergdorfs, Saks, net-a-porter.com, Nordstrom.com etc. etc. and where did I ultimately find my shoe? The first shoe came from Zappos.com. The place everyone told me to go; I just thought I knew better. Will I ever learn? I found the second shoe at endless.com -- they have a great selection of designer brands and amazing search filters (you can filter by color "family" which is so helpful if you're looking for variations on golds or yellows). But I need your help. I love both of these shoes. Both look fabulous with my dress which looks...

Is exhausting. Shoe shopping should be bliss, no? Only when you want to find the perfect shoe, it becomes a chore like any other. I'm in search of the perfect 1-1.5 inch heel (I'm 5'10 and want to be comfortable, dang it). My cocktail length hits just below the knee; so shoes are key. Bear with my rhyme and reason: Perhaps a dyeable shoe from Stu? A gilded shoe from Crew? An unaffordable one from Lou? And if heel height wasn't an issue, I'd go with these from Blue (and Lou) And without further ado, here are 5 more great sites for your bridal shoe quest. Shopbop -- Great labels and the ability to filter your search by brand, trend and more. My Glass Slipper -- I visited their tiny Manhattan shop on the sixth floor of a non-descript office building. Weird environs but a great selection of designers like...
