Brides to be, I know the holidays are winding down, but Williams-Sonoma continues to give. Hopefully the downtime from work this next week will offer you a wee bit of design time to dream about your reception. One of the great ways to trim your decorating budget is to actually spend a little bit more money on your tablecloths. Linen rental is a creative way to make a statement and fill your space without gargantuan centerpieces. While the linens at Wildflower Linens aren't exactly what I'd call budget, they are inspiring, and show how linens can go a long way! Are you doing anything special for your linens or napkins?

With the holiday lull coming upon us, I thought it would be a great time to showcase some DIY escort cards that really offer something special! Urban Bride spent $35 and 2 hours making these awesome embossed escort cards. I love these compass escort cards that Elizabeth Anne Designs featured Ms. Bell Pepper on Wedding Bee made these floral creations from paper, that I thought were just lovely. Are you doing anything interesting with your escort cards?

I just fell in love with this cool and funky stuff from Chalkboard China! From beverage dispensers to napkin rings and wine glasses, their items are either made from or contain chalk board details. How do you get more personal than that? I love this beverage dispenser and think it would be great for a drink station for a daytime wedding, and the napkin rings are a great alternative to a place card. But the real creative showpiece are the vases.... imagine how much fun these would be at a casual wedding, where guests can get really creative! What do you think? Shabby Chic, or just a novelty?

I love when my brides come in to meet with us with binders filled with ideas and inspirations. As everything wedding goes digital and more brides get their inspiration online, I've noticed more and more brides blogging their experience. A bridal blog makes a mean wedding organizer! Your blog doesn't need to be an intimate journal of your wedding planning- though it could be- it can simply be a neat, easy to access/ easy to share place for you to notice photographers you like, post design inspirations you've seen online, post invites that you like or mark out bands' websites that you've been checking out/ noticed. Because a blog can be categorized, it can essentially become a digital version of your wedding binder. And, it's a great way for your vendors and your man and 'maids to see what your wedding vision is! The wonderful Brooklyn Bride blog got started...

I just "leaved" through Kate L. Harrison's new book, "The Green Bride Guide: How to Create an Earth-Friendly Wedding on Any Budget" ($14.95 from Sourcebooks). It just hit bookstores and is the perfect gift for the environmentally conscious couple. It's filled with hundreds of comprehensive tips on sustainable choices for the bride and groom, and, coupled with it's website TheGreenBrideGuide.com, it will help you plan a green fete at any budget. Today, I'm setting the record straight about Wedding Paper Divas. A few years ago, when they were first getting stared, I went online to check out the online wedding invitation shop. I thought that the site was cute and easy, but I remembered the selection being a little limited and, to be frank, it was in one ear and out the other for me. Well, I must say that today, I stand corrected! The site is still fun, functional and easy to use, but it's gone from an online shop to a stationary emporium with a variety of styles and paperweights. The ladies there sent me some samples and the quality of print and paper was delightful. From save the dates (more than 250 designs) to invites to personal notecards, change of address cards and more, it's a one stop shop with really reasonable price points. I'm probably late on...

A few years ago I staged a very covert elopement under the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center for a client. It was terribly romantic, if not completely above board with the Rockefeller Center people. The holidays are such a romantic time for weddings and engagements, and apparently the people at Rockefeller Center have figured that out. They recently launched an "Engagement On Ice" package where for $250 they will package a proposal on-ice equipped with front of line passes, your "signature" song played during or after the proposal, a champagne toast and a private "Victory Lap" on ice. There is actually even more included, but I thought this was pretty sweet! Did your fiance pop the question around the holidays? What was your proposal story?

There is something lovely about having a set of stationery for the moment when you feel like engaging in the lost art of snail mail correspondence. So when I saw the amazing boxed sets of luxurious stationary from Ceci at only 39.95 per set, I thought these would make the most lovely bridesmaid gift, thank you present or even a perfect holiday gift. They are packaged in a gorgeous box and each set has 12 theme related cards. Here are some of the various designs that are offered. What do you think? Stationary as a gift- practical, or obsolete?
