A Good Tip for Bridesmaids and Attendants!
Posted on Jul 17, 2008 5:00:00 AM  |  By LizKrieger

While my mom bought her wedding outfit several months ago and modeled it for me then, she hasn't pulled it off the hanger since then. But the other day a friend advised her to do a "dry run" with the whole look, and that was a wise choice.

Problem: She realized that her bra strap was showing and needed to be tacked to the top.
Solution: Special double-sided fabric tape to tack the strap to the shirt, i.e. Hollywood Fashion Tape. Another good option: Braza Strap Keepers.

Problem: She took note of the fact that she'd shed a few pounds since she bought the pants, making them rather unattractively blousy in the rear and hips.
Solution: A last-minute trip back to the tailor to have a few seams taken in.

So, ladies (and gentlemen, too!) even if you don't think you need to, try on your dress, with the shoes and undergarments you're planning on wearing. You just may catch a stray button, thread, strap, seam or something else that you can fix ahead of time—not the day of the wedding!—Liz

Hollywood tape is amazing I highly recommend it, but do a test first to see if you have any reaction to it. I do use it but my skin does get red and puckers a bit after I remove it. That is if you use it to keep your fabric taped to your skin and not another piece of fabric. I used it when I wear certain tank tops to work under a sweater if I do not want any "artwork" to show. I also used it as a bride to keep my dress pressed to my chest to avoid overflowing cups and again to hid the "artwork".

good idea. i just took my bridesmaid dress for alterations two days ago, definitely need to do a dry run later with all the accessoies, hair and makeup. i did have a nightware last week about not being ready on the day off and scrambling to get the dress altered!

Hollywood tape is my new best friend! I was recently a briddesmaid in a wedding and could not for the life of me get the top to my bridesmaid gown to lay flat against my chest... the answer, Hollywood tape. It just took two little strips and my gown was securly in place the whole night so I could dance my little heart out!

That hollywood stuff never worked well for me. Try out Lacebugz wedding and formal wear packs from Bug Catcherz at www.bugcatcherz.com. They are much stronger and last longer. They ever work through perspiration so you can dance in them without worry at the reception!
