Invitations: Git 'Er Done

Last Friday our invitations arrived! They came in this gorgeous wooden box from our designer Paper +Cup (here's their super-cute blog). I have to say, they delivered in style.

Designer Minhee Park of Paper + Cup does some truly lovely work -- we had a tough time narrowing down her wedding invite options. In the end we went with one similar to the below example, in brown letterpress, with red rsvp envelopes and cool, self-adhesive return address labels (although they were kind of a pain to affix, they were very cool).

Invite

This past weekend, at my family's house in Philadelphia, we created an assembly line of addressers and stuffers. I was heartened that everyone chipped in with their particular skills.

The jobs:

> My sister, aka MOH, who (lucky for me) has some of the most beautiful handwriting in the world, addressed envelopes.

> My brother-in-law, a big fancy curator of European art by trade, was now leading us in the careful organization of envelope, rsvp card, direction card, repeat!

> My fiancee spent some time affixing labels and the rest of time on the phone with his sister ensuring we had the Ms.'s and Mrs.'s right.

> My mom printed out her sturdy "family contact sheet" for review. She kept my sister's two-year-old occupied by Caillou and her 8-month-old occupied on her lap.

> My dad walked the dogs and kept the Saturday housework moving along.

> I stuffed. A lot.

And now I wait for lots of little red rsvp envelopes to show up in my mailbox. Fun.

Wow, I just got the e-mail warning me ours our shipping and should be here tomorrow. We were hoping to take a few months putting ours all together.

You guys are really organized to do it all in a weekend. That's some amazing focus.

And the box and invitations look lovely too.

Congratulations! I love the flourishes beside your initials, truly lovely.
My husband own an advertising agency, so we did our own invitations. This post took me back to pressing the letter M into bronze colored wax on the backs of the envelopes. What sweet memories you'll have.
