This is not my studio space, it's a photo of someone else in their beautiful space as photographed by Rachel Whiting. Rachel is a phenomenal photographer, I admire her portfolio so much. Have you heard of her before? Working as a freelance photographer, she attended Brighton University graduating in 2001 with a BA in Editorial Photography. She currently specializes in still life and interiors working for many prestigious clients such as LivingEtc and Ideal Home in the UK. Would you like to be inspired by some of her magical photos of beautiful homes and their little nooks? I can't think of a better thing to do on a Friday morning. Please pay special attention to how things are styled because nothing is by chance! From the feminine chartreuse dress hanging on the closet door to the glass bottles in green and blue tones, it's interesting to see how things are placed so perfectly in order to create the perfect photo. I can see Rachel's photographs fitting perfectly into the pages of Real Simple, can't you? I also picture myself in the beautiful bedroom, bottom left, because I like the combination of blue and green with white and natural wood. It has a beachy laid back vibe and as I sit here typing in freezing snow-covered New Hampshire this morning I cannot help but dream of waking up in such a bedroom, preferably ocean front in a sunny town. I sure would love to comb the shore for shells this morning inside of shovel my driveway! Happy Friday Real Simple readers! Thank you so much for tuning in this week. All of us here at RealSimple.com really value your comments and that you take time from your hectic schedule to see what we're up to so thanks! (images from rachel whiting)
Posted by: Tracey| February 20, 2009 at 11:44 AM The blues and greens in those pictures are quite calming. A real treat for the eyes. I first heard of Rachel Whiting here and then again here and I couldn't stop thinking about it so I am so glad you posted more images of her work! The blues and greens are so soothing. Does anyone know where I can find those amazing ceramics in the top left photo? They look Finnish or Scandinavian. Any help would be appreciated! I really love the pictures of the bottles and the rows of hooks. I agree about the last bedroom -- so relaxing and calm! |

I would love to be more adept at placing pieces for photography. I " visually merchandise" clients homes and spaces, but the photo placement eludes me. It takes a special eye to make it look good in a picture! Beautiful work!
