This year at the many design fairs held worldwide the B&B Italia Canasta Side Tables made their debut. Designed by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola and starting at around $1,200 each, they give a bit of life to a very minimalistic, clean design. While they're no budget find, I think they are so interesting and lovely! I like everything that comes out of B&B Italia though, they can do no wrong in my book. These tables remind me slightly of my own desk. I got bored with my white desk last year so I had a piece of glass cut to fit the size of my table top and I place a new piece of wallpaper, fabric, or wrapping paper beneath it (cut to fit) whenever the spirit moves me. I don't even have to use adhesive. I like the Canasta and truly if I had the budget for one, I would splurge because I like the combination of modern clean lines with the folk style patterned top, it's a good look because there's equal balance of restraint and fun. Minimal design meets playful eclectic. Lovely! (photo: Style Park)
