10 Etsy Faves for September
Posted on Sep 5, 2008 6:00:00 AM  |  By HollyBecker

It's time for the monthly Etsy round up where I show you my ten favorite stores of the month! I can't believe all of the talented shop owners out there, it's incredibly inspiring as the well never seems to dry up of quality independent artists. Hope you enjoy my top ten for September... Let's get started!

First up is DK Designs Hawaii. Can you believe this lady makes these flowers out of clay? Yes, really. I know, my jaw dropped too. Perfect for centerpieces, wedding bouquets, home decor, you name it. Love this lovely alternative to the real thing.

Next up is Dulcet. I love this shop and her handmade goodies that include art, handmade books, vintage finds... She has a really good eye for soft, feminine finds.

I'm addicted to yummy-scented soaps made from natural ingredients. Farmstead Organics is a great shop for finding some of the best soaps ever. Farm fresh!

My Imaginary Boyfriend (cute name!) is a fun shop filled with crafts that range from faux bois pillows to neck ties and pin cushions. Really sweet stuff!

Irene Suchocki is a Canadian photographer who I can't get enough of lately. I'm in LOVE with this digitally altered photo "Love is in the Air". I want it soooo bad. It's my current favorite from her collection.

French inspired vintage jewelry by Jacqleen Bleu had me at hello. I love her collection of very special things. I think you will too.

I've had a crush on French store La Pomme for awhile now but I don't believe I've shared her work her before. These lavender-filled dolls are darling and would make for a perfect present or keep them for yourself and tuck one away in your lingerie drawer or bedside table.

I'm really proud of my friend Marisa Haedike of Creative Thursday for taking her art and paintings to a whole new level by self-publishing a children's book called "Who are you going to be today, Olive?" that features some of her beloved characters that appear in her many paintings. Marisa is such a talented and lovely lady, it's my pleasure to feature her etsy shop where you can not only find paintings (originals), but also prints, clay sculptures, and of course her new book!

I recently found Briones & Co. and really enjoy this recipe album in particular (love the typography and colors!). Adhesive labels, books, so many pretty paper goods that you are certain to find something that you like.

I REALLY like Syko from Finland and her soft art ranging from whimsical quilts to appliques, cushion covers, prints, mobiles, postcards... it's all so cute and extremely well made and I think her aesthetic is just darling - so fresh! The puffy cloud cushion cover is my current fave.

I hope you've enjoyed these 10 shops today!

How wonderful Holly!! I loved all your picks -- the birdcage necklace is my favorite, as well as the amazing photography by Irene. *Swoon*

Very good choices, especially the La Pomme store. I love her work, and she is also a very nice person...

Marisa at Creative Thursday is my all-time favorite Etsy shop. She even did a commission painting for my daughter for Christmas. She will cherish it forever.

Here it is if you want to take a peek: http://emphasisallmine.typepad.com/emphasismine/2007/12/santa-has-enour.html

Thanks for giving Etsy the exposure it deserves!

Suz

P.S . love that necklace, too. Time for some budget infractions.

Superior all natural soaps are truly an indulgence. It may sound like a cliche but it is true that they are worth every penny.

These are all such wonderful selections. Lapomme and Syko are insanely talented and Irene's photography gets me every time. Thank you for sharing these :D
