I have a monthly column in the Boston Globe Style & Arts section where I spotlight either a trend or simply round up products around a theme I'm currently digging. It's one I really look forward to and I appreciate the freedom that the editor gives me to run wild with my ideas. Some months it's all about black and white furniture and the next, pendant lighting. Last week the column was all about lighting. I'm currently crazy for so many pendants, it's hard to pick only a few! (A good 'problem' to have though, right?) As a shopper myself, I appreciate whenever someone takes the time to show me things that they are obsessing over as I like to see all of my available options before making a purchase. I think that is why I love product round ups so much. Perhaps you're the same way, so with that in mind I'm going to share five pendant lights today that I think you will love. A few of these were in the recent Globe article mentioned above. 1) I cannot stop drooling over is Patrick Townsend's orbit chandelier, I even wrote to him asking for a custom version to be shipped to my other apartment in Germany but of course it won't work due to wiring standards and such being different than here in the states. It's my absolute favorite light out there, hands down. 2) An affordable pendant I love is the 3-D Chandlier from Urban Outfitters and really works with that fabulous silhouette trend going on at the moment. It's also only $36! 3) I'm also a fan of texture, so the whitewash Bamboo Cloud Chandelier from Rian Rae is another favorite though you'll need to save up for this one... It's just under $700. 4) Another fave, the Star Light by Kathleen Hills sold at Roost Living in the UK. Not sure if these are made to fit outlets in America, you may want to ask before you order. I like the clean, modern aesthetic and the pretty star shape. Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight! 5) And last but not least, the Loop pendant made in Boston by Simplemente Blanco and it's affordable (for handmade) at just over $250. I'm custom ordering this light for my bedroom, I love it soooo much. It's simple, detailed, feminine and to me, perfection. For more amazing pendants, check out this extensive lighting round up: Light Up Your Life over on decor8 written by guest blogger Becky from Design Public (she authors their blog Hatch). She covers lighting to fit all styles and budgets. (images linked to sources above)
