Crazy About Bacon
Posted on Jan 26, 2009 3:28:34 PM  |  By Lygeia Grace

Baconimg_1549One of my favorite sights at our local farmers' market is the Bacon Hypnosis sign at the Tamarack Hollow Farm stand. Rain or shine it does its job, luring unsuspecting shoppers over to the display of pasture-raised meats. Of course, some people need no convincing. These are the ones who love the salty-sweet flavor of cured pork so much that they're willing to eat it with just about anything. Elvis had his fried peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches. Here are some other porky wonders he might have loved:

Vosges Bacon Chocolate Bar

Candied Bacon (recipe here)

A Date With a Pig (recipe here)

Bacon Vodka (recipe here)

A Bacon of the Month Club subscription

Bacon Bandages

Bacon Tee Shirts

Bacon Toothpicks

The Bacon Cookbook

...And these very funny bacon photos on the TwisterMC blog.

Do you LOVE bacon? What is the tastiest way to eat it?

Plain? Is that bad? I would argue it's tough to beat bacon as is...

Can I just say my husband loves the combination of bacon and Peanut Butter. He has those in a sandwich at least once a month. He has had the Bacon Chocolate candy by Vosges. He thought it was wonderful. I don't think I'd like them together although I like, Chocolate, Peanut butter and bacon just not together.

Fried gold brown to a crisp in a pan. Baked golden brown to a crisp in the oven. Nuked golden brown to a crisp in a microwave. Ahhhh.

I'm always drawn to your posts! I also paid homage to the wonderousness of bacon on my own edible crafts column at craftgossip.com. See even more bacony things here:

My husband is very appreciative of such bacon information.
thanks!

There is a wonderful bacon of the month club offering heirloom variety bacons, as well as traditional bacons. The offerings are MUCH better than the club listed above (which I can say, I'm a former member of Grateful and a current member of Pig Next Door)

http://thepignextdoor.com/

The owners are wonderful. They get to know the farmers, send really tasty recipes out with the shipments (no lame cartoons) and they offer wonderful customer service. Check them out! You won't regret it!
