Valentine's Day_
Sweet Treats and More
Posted on Jan 25, 2009 11:55:06 PM  |  By KateParker

Valentine's Day is just a couple weeks away, and whether you've recently been hit by cupid's arrow, have been married for ages, or just want to show a little love to your close friends, chances are you're starting to look for a thoughtful gift.

I'll share some fun, affordable ideas with you here throughout the week. Today's suggestions are what I'd consider "neutral" gifts: not overly romantic, so they work for just about anyone - from your co-worker to your sister.

I'm a fan of the sweet-treat-as-gift. Try Lulu's Mondel Bread - like a hybrid between cookie and biscotti (yum!), it arrives fresh even after shipping, and comes in a variety of flavors and gift packaging, with options starting as low as $10.

Why not take it a step further with a more personal treat? At gumdrop cookie shop, you can choose from one of the signature v-day designs (shown here), or customize your own with photos and a special message.

If your beloved has some blank wall space, I'd suggest this LOVE print from the environmentally-friendly MadeByGirl. At just $25, it's a steal for some limited-edition wall art, and the sentiment is spot on.

I also adore this card from the same site - could there be a better way to say "we belong together"?

Now, my question for you: what's the best Valentine's Day gift you've ever gotten? Spill it here.

Ladies would like to be remembered in these special days. Chocolates and flowers always good gifts but they do not last forever. If you want to give something that they can keep for a long time and remind you when they look at it. I think Heart Pendant Necklace would be a great idea. Try Designer Necklaces and Pendants by Aya Azrielant they have beautiful selection with discount prices.

A fantastically low-key dinner date. Maybe just a spread of yummy appetizers at home with my fiance. Spending time together is always a favoriate gift for me.
