...isn't gold. Sometimes, it's a pumpkin. Looking for a last minute way to add a bit of whimsy to your Halloween decor? Someone recently brought my attention to these sparkly pumpkins from Ovando, a full service floral company with a shop in NYC's West Village. Sandra Ovando has an eye for dramatic compositions that are "deceptively simple" - as you can see. Starting at just $15 for the mini-size, I think they're the perfect addition to any spooky-chic tableau. Check out the Ovando website for more of Sandra's stunning work. Can't get to the shop? My colleague Jessica suggested she'd try crafting her own sparkly pumpkins, using spray glue and glitter from the craft store. (It can't be any messier than carving, right?) What's your favorite Halloween decoration? photo courtesy of Ovando
Posted by: Marcia Pikel| November 02, 2008 at 04:57 PM I tried the spray glue and glitter.... yeah dont try it, the glitter barely sticks and you make a HUGE mess of glitter everywhere because it doesnt stick. We now have glitter in every room. Paint or glue that you "paint" on works much much better. But ps orange glitter is near impossible to find but it can be found inthe scrapbooking section at your favorite craft store but you pay twice the price. |
