The holidays are approaching quickly – and invites to those autumn & winter soirées will be in the mailbox before you know it! Do yourself a favor and stock up on some stylish hostess gifts now... before the madness of the season is in full swing. Not only will thinking ahead help you avoid the stress of having to high-tail it to the grocery store for any ol’ scented candle or bottle of wine on your way to the party, but just think of all the extra cheer you'll bring to your holiday hostess when she opens something as fun and unexpected as this fabulous Flower Notebook Set by Thomas Paul. (pictured above, top right; $19/set of 3) More gift ideas from Thomas Paul’s Red Flower desk collection: Red Flowers Gift Boxed Note Cards ($12) Red Flower List Pad ($6) Red Flower Picture Frame ($16)
Blue Notebook Set Blue Pencil Cup + Pencils ($6) Blue Mailing Labels: Blue Bird Frame *** What types of things do you like to give as hostess gifts? Do you usually make the time to pick out something special, or does the idea of booking it down the grocery store aisle the day of the party sound more like it?

Sprinkles cupcake mixes and a spatula that matches the color on the can (depends on the flavor). I had this idea too late in the season last year to stock up on one of my trips to Williams-Sonoma (we, unfortunately, don't have one very close) but you can be assured that this year, I'm all about it! Last November I gave the hostess of a dinner party we went to the pumpkin version and an orange spatula and it was a huge hit!
