Want to make a statement at your next dinner party? Instead of the usual pretty flower arrangements and white table linens, wow your guests with fashion-forward acrylic accessories and a bold, splashy palette of red, black, and zebra print!

I originally created the "Red & Bold" table pictured above as an engagement party, but this look would also work fabulously for an anniversary celebration, rehearsal dinner, milestone birthday, or special dinner party!

Since it's likely that a lot of the elements used here aren't already hanging out in your cupboards, just waiting to be dusted off, I incorporated melamine and paper items into the design to help keep costs down...and you can further reduce the cost by replacing the melamine Zebra Salad Plates with a similar paper version and utilizing white dinner plates, silverware, and stemware that you already own. Complete details and shopping resources are below....

Place Setting Elements:
Crepe Paper Placemats in Red ($15/set of 12)
Zebra Salad Plates ($24/set of 4)
• Black Tablecloth and Napkins (purchased in-store at Target)
• Marabou Craft Boa for embellishing stemware (available at Michael's)
• "Napkin Rings": red cardstock, cut into wide strips
To personalize the napkin rings, use adhesive letters - like the white "thickers" pictured here - to spell out occasion-appropriate words like "LOVE" (for engagement/anniversary/rehearsal) across the place settings, to represent the guest of honor's initials or to act as monogram-style seating assignments.

Centerpiece Elements:
Acrylic Red Square Votives ($15/set of 2)
Red Candelabra ($40) This dramatic baroque design cut from modern acrylic is a guaranteed conversation piece!
Black and Red Zebra Cocktail Napkins ($4.75 for 20)

What type of elements and/or color palettes do you think would work beautifully for creating a bold, unique tablescape?
