Modern Melamine
Posted on Jun 13, 2008 1:10:07 PM  |  By JenniferSbranti

When it comes to outdoor entertaining, melamine dinnerware is one of the best inventions to hit the party scene! Not only does it help to keep breaks at bay and make for super easy clean-up, melamine dinnerware is also available in tons of fabulously creative patterns and designs.

There are several wonderful companies and designers that produce these affordable, outdoor-friendly collections, including Jonathan Adler, Pop Ink, Thomas Paul, Working Class Studio, French Bull by Jackie Shapiro, Target, and Precidio Objects, amongst others. Since we're already in the middle of June and the sun is blazing outside (at least here in San Diego), I thought it would be fun to feature some of the extra-bright, colorful melamine pieces from French Bull today... which are perfect for backyard summer soirées!

Keep the style going even after the party's over with these ultra-mod food storage sets, or make life even easier by serving food straight from the containers, then simply covering leftovers with the plastic lid when done!

Do you own any melamine dinnerware? It's actually a great option for kids as well. I used the French Bull Robots kids plates for a kids party the other day and they were a hit (and remained fully in tact)!

I recently picked up a bright yellow Dansk melamine serving tray at a rummage sale. I can't wait to use it this summer!
