The tried-and-true apron has come a long way, baby! I’m constantly impressed by how stylish and creative apron designs are these days. A quick online search for the modern apron will yield designs flaunting contemporary patterns and colors, tailored cuts, specialty pockets, unique buttons and ties… the list goes on!
We usually reach for aprons to protect the cute outfit we’re wearing while cooking a special meal or prepping for a party, but what happens when the apron outshines the outfit?! Maybe in those instances it would be okay to just “forget” to take the apron off for the entire party…what do you think? Before you answer, consider these fabulous apron designs from Anthropologie (pictured above):
1. Recipe Book Apron ($32) 2. Butterfly Apron ($32) 3. Stockholm Floral ($28)
Another great trend in aprons is the variety of available sizes & lengths, which include full, half, and quarter, and kids versions. There’s a wonderful company called Progeny that offers several of their ultra-stylish apron designs in all 4 of these sizes. Pictured below is Progeny’s “Swinging Mimi” design in full apron, half apron, and quarter apron sizes:
I’m a huge fan of the quarter apron size for instances beyond cooking. It functions as a great “tool belt” for moms of little ones or for anyone in “crafting mode” that would otherwise find themselves continuously searching for the scissors/tape/glue that they were “just holding a second ago!”. I have been that person way too many times… it’s amazing how things can disappear right in front of you!
Get Shopping! In addition to Anthropologie and Progeny, here are a few more fun apron brands to check out...
• Domistyle {Wild Orchid and Baby Blue Floral designs pictured above}
• Jessie Steele
• Callie Micks
• Apronique
