My name is Jenn Sbranti and I'm the co-founder of Hostess with the Mostess, Inc., an online resource that focuses on modern and innovative entertaining ideas -- everything from holidays and casual get-togethers to special occasions such as baby showers and anniversary parties. I'm thrilled to be joining the Real Simple community and excited to share tips on stylish and contemporary entertaining ideas and products. Although my career background is in print and web design (I founded my design firm – Sbranti Design – in 2002), social entertaining has always been a passion of mine. I approach parties in a similar way to any design project; each celebration is a new opportunity to get creative: the style of the invitations, special details in the party decór, food presentation, party favors -- even the color of the signature drinks! A few years ago, when a lot of my friends started getting married and having babies, I noticed that several of the hostesses in charge of throwing their showers or engagement parties became stressed out at the thought putting together the event. It became apparent to me that there was a real need for a great online entertaining resource; a place where hostesses could quickly and easily find everything from cool party themes and decorating ideas to yummy recipes, resources for stylish party supplies, and tips on entertaining etiquette. Thus, the idea behind HostessWithTheMostess.com was born. Here at Simply Stated, I'm excited to share tips and ideas for fashionable -- and convenient -- entertaining. You won't find advice on how to make centerpieces destined to drain your bank account or party favors that take 30 minutes a pop. You'll instead find cool products and fun, approachable ideas that will keep you and your guests happily entertained! Looking forward to celebrating with you in the coming months! Cheers,
Posted by: Jo| March 04, 2008 at 04:02 PM I feel so honored to be in your company here on Simply Stated Jen! Nice work as only I would expect from you anyway. :) xo The candles are lovely, but to be safe, put candles in a glass holder that is taller than the candle and the candle should be about 3" shorter than the container. this way, there is far less danger of a guest getting burned while reaching to the wine.Never place floating candles in tall containers as they can be unstable and tip easily. Open candles can be dangerous so close together on a dinner table. Would you please send me the recipies from the "Get the Most From Expensive Herbs" herbed tomato sauce booklet/ The on-line fiel is corrupt. |
