Sometimes you need a little more help than concealer and pressed powder – emphasis on a little. Some foundations that I’ve tried are simply too heavy, settling into pores and becoming cakey, while many have helped my skin look a little better. But none has truly incited enthusiasm – until Giorgio Armani Face Fabric ($45 at Giorgio Armani Beauty).

The company’s original Luminous Silk Foundation ($58 at Giorgio Armani Beauty) has a large and loyal following, and while I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, it might now be tough to get me off the Face Fabric.

First of all, Face Fabric has SPF 12. Very important. But so do many foundations; the difference here is the incredibly blendable, natural-looking coverage that melts into skin instead of feeling – or looking – like it’s sitting on top.

While I’m not sure who uses Shade 8 (White – and it does look very white on the website), I do know my shade (3) suits me very, very well.
