If you’re lucky enough to be able to sneak away to somewhere warm for a weekend, cut vacation costs a little by re-stocking your resort wear wardrobe with budget-friendly finds. Swimwear can break your vacation budget more quickly than you might think. We found these two swimsuits at Newport News, where there’s a sizable collection of options under $50. This classy one-piece ($25) comes in three other colors, and the bikini ($19) has cute, nautical-inspired rope detail on the top and bottom. Pair them with a patent flip-flop ($9.99 at Payless) that’s a step up from the rubber variety. Most warm-weather clothes aren’t on sale yet, but stores like JCPenney and Old Navy plenty of affordable choices. We like the clean, not-too-tight cut of these shorts ($19.99 at JCPenney) and the easy fit on this cotton top ($15 at Old Navy). Sub a “re-usable shopping bag” ($9.99 at Target) for a beach tote – they’re usually cheaper and essentially the same thing.
