Solution: Brighten Tired-Looking Eyes In A Flash
Posted on Nov 21, 2008 7:51:22 AM  |  By MichelleMadhok

Most of us are lucky – really lucky – if we get seven hours of sleep in a night. And at the end of a day at the office, that paltry five-hour rest can catch up with you, leaving eyes puffy or just not entirely presentable for after-work engagements.

Here, four quick fixes (for tired eyes if not an exhausted mind) that are desk-drawer and glove-compartment friendly.

The Problem:
Drooping lids, dullness
The Fix: White Eyeliner, $0.99 at Walgreens
Eyes_liner
Line the inner rim or your lower lid in white to ‘extend’ the whites of your eyes, making them look bigger and brighter.

The Problem:
Puffiness
The Fix: Cooling cucumber eye pads from Caswell-Massey, $12 at Beauty.com
Eyes_cucumber
Hold these pre-moistened pads with aloe vera, green tea and chamomile on eyes for a minute or two to reduce puffiness. For an extra jolt of cool, keep them in the fridge.

The Problem: Undereye circles
The Fix: Too Faced Mineral Water Eye Brightening Pencil, $18 at Sephora
Eyes_toofaced
Dab this mineral water-enhanced concealer under eyes, and the pinkish tone will combat dark circles.

The Problem: Dryness, redness
The Fix: Visine Advanced Redness Relief Eyedrops, $1.99 at Drugstore.com
Eyes_visine
Good old Visine still does a good job to get the red out.
