What: The Sassybax Torso Trim Cami ($75 at Bare Necessities), a stretchy smoothing tank with a built-in underwire bra.
Test drive: I’m wearing this tank with a fitted-waist skirt and a tucked-in shirt, and I must say, it definitely smooths out the everything it covers – no holding my breath to zip the skirt or any of that. It does give the sensation that (I imagine) a corset gives – with a lot more stretch and a little less bulk – but you definitely get the feeling you’ve being held in by…something. It also has a handy no-roll band at the bottom, lined with fabric that won’t creep up when you move around. And because the "bra" is really the whole tank, there's no fiddling with the band or the straps. As you might imagine, a tube of microfiber and spandex is not exceedingly easy to get in and out of. You will look a little silly tugging it on and off. But, bottom line, it’s worth it. Do you employ shapewear to battle unwanted bumps? P.S. - This is the 100th post in Simply Stated Beauty! I can't believe it's already been 100 tips, tricks and trends. A big thanks to the wonderful community of women here for your feedback and contributions to our posts!
