I love Fresh Sugarbath Body Polish ($65 at Beauty.com). But just like the spinach dip at Houston’s, it's been steadily rising in price ever since I first tried it, and now it’s just too expensive. Is there a beauty product you’ve been priced out of buying? There are plenty of other options that, at a fraction of the price, still retain what I love about Sugarbath – the intense moisturizing and the sugar crystals that dissolve while you scrub, making it impossible to scratch your skin too much. Target just debuted a whole bunch of Soap & Glory products, a super-luxurious line without the super-luxurious price tags. The Spa Sugar Crush Body Scrub ($16.99 at Target) has brown sugar and almond oil, just like my favorite, and the retro-looking tub matches my black-and-white bathroom. St. Ives just debuted a line of sugar-based exfoliators, too. The moisturizing version ($7.99 at Walgreens) contains oatmeal and shea butter, plus it has the most appealing sweet scent. Do you have a favorite affordable body scrub? Please share below!
Posted by: Gemma Truman| September 20, 2008 at 02:33 PM I have an ongoing "Got-to-have it relationship with the sugar scrub from the Artistry Spa Collection. It is what I call a spa inspired system for $30.60. It also protects your skin from free radical damage with an approved antioxidant by Nutrilite. I have been using this product for a year, I have tried many, however nothing compares, and it is affordable for the 15.8 oz. |

Not too long ago I bought my first and most favorite intensive body scrub at Victoria's Secret, I think it was part of the Victoria's Secret Spa line, I'm not sure, but it came in a Tiffany blue jar that I loved down to the last spoon.
And as fate would have it, it was no longer there next time I went in.
Disappointed, I tried to find other (cheaper) solutions and tried a Bath and Body Works version that was in the same price range ($20 or so), but it smelled like I had lost a fight with a grapefruit and it didn't quite do the job.
Then I decided to try the Soap & Glory "Scrub of Your Life" and I am impeccably happy again. It didn't break the bank but it was luxurious enough to call it a weekly indulgence (I use it every Sunday in a very long shower while my deep conditioner does its magic) and it doesn't smell like a produce stand.
I am very happy to hear, however, that St. Ives has come up with something. I used to live off of their apricot scrub and am now going through a tube of their olive facial scrub, and to hear that they have a body scrub that'll moisturize as well as give me enough exfoliation is wonderful, especially in that price range.
Thank you for posting about this.
