Even though these days, many of us are letting more time pass between haircuts and using lipsticks right down to the plastic holder, everyone needs a small indulgence here and there. Beautiful hand soaps are an ideal little splurge: the most expensive usually cost less than $20, and it’s the sort of thing you look at and use several times a day, so you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of a good one. The three soaps below have gorgeous scents and natural ingredients – the perfect little gift to yourself, or your favorite girls’-night-in hostess. Fresh bars ($12 at Fresh) are beautifully wrapped in wire and paper, and come in lots of delicious scents like Fig Apricot (below) and Orange Chocolate. With tons of natural oils and butters, plus detoxifying charcoal, the subversively pretty swirls on this Charcoal Soap ($5.50 at Luv4Country) are just a bonus. Bliss’s big 11-ounce bar ($18 at Sephora) has luxurious massaging nubs – but smells just as wonderful once you’ve worn them flat.
Posted by: Chica & Jo| August 06, 2008 at 10:32 AM Michelle: I would like to personally thank you for this pleasant surprise. ;) I emailed you to ask if you would like a bar of the Charcoal Soap in thanks for mentioning my product. Just wanted to say that Luv4Coutry's soaps are just gorgeous, she really knows her stuff and those charcoal soaps are a dream for your skin! How exciting to see Luv4Country soaps featured here! We've been ordering her soaps and lotions for a few years now. No dry skin ever. My husband loves her "Gentleman Caller" soap and uses it exclusively. Every time I try a new fragrance bar it becomes my favorite. BTW...the Lemon Curd Lotion from Luv4Country is more than incredible. I'm sooo happy for Luv4Country Soaps! They deserve more media attention. |

We created some faux luxury by decorating our ordinary soap to look like luxury soap. http://www.chicaandjo.com/2008/05/19/make-soap-special-looking/
This is great for putting lots of bars in your guest bathroom. You can decorate them to match your decor. Make sure and tell your guests that it is all useable though!
