Another Simple Solution: Kix by Katie For Wandering Pant Hems
Posted on Aug 20, 2008 2:00:00 AM  |  By MichelleMadhok

You’re wearing: Sophisticated slingbacks and tailored trousers.

The problem: The bottom of your pants keeps getting stuck between your foot and the heel of your shoe. Then you have to stop in the middle of the street, teeter on one foot and right the situation only to have it happen again in half a block.

Solution: Kix by Katie basically add just the right amount of stiffness to the bottom few inches of your pants so they don’t swoosh quite as much while you’re walking. One side is adhesive, so you stick a strip to the inside of each pant leg and you’re on your way.

They aren’t re-usable, so at $12.95 for a three-pack they cost a bit more than $4 per wear (unless you rig up some double-stick-tape system, which I don’t doubt can be done). I actually think they’d make a nifty gift for a sister or niece who insists upon walking everywhere in high-heeled sandals.

And if you choose to avoid the whole situation and commute in flats, check out Zakkerz – these little strips of fabric hold up your hems so they don’t drag on the floor while you walk.

Love love love Kix By Katie!! I just started using Kix a few months ago and they make all the difference! I am so grateful somebody invented a solution to the heel wedgie problem - it is sooo awful to have to keep kicking your pants out of your shoe!

Thanks for sharing this with us. Real Simple is my all time favorite magazine. I run my own business and have three young children, so I rarely have time to sit down with a magazine but I always sneak in the time to read Real Simple cover to cover - love all your tips, recipes, and inspirational stories!

Warm thanks!
Cindy
