As is probably apparent by now, I do a lot of online shopping, and a lot of online browsing. All that hanging around on the Internet has yielded some opinions about where to shop – in particular, where to shop for shoes. In three words, they are: Zappos, Endless, Piperlime. All three have free shipping and free returns. All three let you see photos of each shoe from several different angles. All three are fabulous in their own ways...especially when you’re searching for something, but don’t know its name yet. Case in point: while writing this, I’m searching for a versatile, neutral-colored, heeled sandal under $100. Here’s what I found: On Zappos: Seychelles Down Payment Sandal ($84) One of the biggest pluses about Zappos is the huge selection – which also means you’ll probably be browsing through a ton of products. This is ok with me. With a ton of search options for style, fit, color and price, plus customer reviews galore, you’ll come to a decision eventually. On Endless: Bandolino Women’s Gwynlin Sandal ($56.06)
On Piperlime: Unisa Ravena Slide ($89) The selection here isn’t as wide as on other sites, but Piperlime is a sensational place to browse with little direction because the collection is extremely well-edited: nearly every shoe is wearable and stylish. The site also “headlines” certain groups of shoes like comfortable, work, and under-$75, making for a fun online experience that feels like a shopping trip – without the lines and the $4 gallon of gas.
