There is hardly a day that goes by that I’m not asked about my Janna Conner crystal studs. Yes, they are sparkly and definitely pretty, but I didn’t think studs/post earrings could command such attention–which is never the case when I’m simply wearing my stand-by pearl or silver ball studs.
I have been giving serious thought to wearing a short dress. This way I could show off my best feature–my legs AND display all my fabulous shoe picks. Of course there is the alternative of wearing a long dress during the ceremony and changing into a shorter cocktail/party dress for the reception (the perfect excuse for more shopping).
Another Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as come and gone here in New York City—and it has left us with sweet and stylish ideas of what we will be wearing AND wanting come Fall.
Parents have many wonderful dreams for their children–everything from becoming a doctor to the next President of the United States. Very few want them to become rockstars for obvious reasons (thanks Iggy Pop and Courtney Love–just to name a few).
BUT, that doesn’t mean they can’t dress like one–and thanks to the awesomely designed children’s clothing line–aptly named–rockstarbaby you can let me them live out their rockstar dreams, before they even know what drugs and alcohol are. Now, that deserves a head-bang or two!
It always warms my heart when I read about designers trying to make a positive change in the world. So it put a big smile on my face when I heard that Kenneth Cole was teaming up with HELP USA to raise money for the homeless that are living with HIV/AIDS.
The beautiful weather this weekend might have been a tease, since it’s currently cold and rainy here in NYC. Yuck!
However, those few brief days of warmth and sunshine have got me thinking about spring! I can’t wait to break out a pair of open-toed shoes, throw on a brightly colored dress AND switch out the dark black leather handbags I have been carrying since October. And (of course) I definitely have a bag (err, bags) in mind….
We have yet another high-to-low designer collaboration to get excited about! Yipee!
NY Fashion Week is coming to a close today but its leaving us with a bevy of beautiful collections, exciting trends and lust-worthy pieces (see the Proenza Schouler higlhlights below…I NEED that printed dress in the bottom lefthand corner). The second half of the week prevailed as my favorite–for reasons that you can witness in the following pictures. Don’t you just die (in the fabulous-I-need-these-in-my-closet-immediately sort of way)?
Fashion week rolled on through the weekend and I’m happy to report back with some strong looks and wearable trends (vibrant colors, menswear, bold prints, chic layering and the 70′s are back!)
