Slipcovers For IKEA Furniture – Yes or No?

I have an IKEA sofa that I want to move into a guest room — but it needs a bit of a facelift so I’m thinking of ordering a Bemz slipcover. Are you familiar with them? They are based in Sweden but ship worldwide and they have slipcovers for almost everything IKEA stocks that is upholstered – and they carry a bevy of colors, fabrics and patterns to choose from. My favorite is their loosefit collection. I just love the they use gorgeous Belgium linen because I find it among some of the best linens in the world – it’s so comfortable and wears well but also drapes beautifully.

When it comes to shower curtains, I often have a hard time finding exactly what I like. As a result, I am forced to get creative and whip up one using bed linens and a plastic liner — something I learned from my mother since she always made them for our home. Thankfully though, over the years som great shower curtains have emerged and can be found at stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond and Target but still… I think that there is still a gap when it comes to finding ones that feel feminine yet modern without either being contemporary or Shabby Chic.
