Pump Up Your Decor with Wallpaper

Comfortable, stylish, fresh yet familiar and “at home” is what most of us try to achieve as we’re decorating our homes. For me, I’m all about creating a space that reflects those living in it in the most authentic way but then taking it up a notch to add a bit more because decorating should have a bit of an […]

Where Do You Shop For Office Supplies?

It’s August 1st and I’m thinking about organization and making sure everything is in order before I begin traveling later this month and in September. The better organized I am, the happier I feel about leaving my husband alone for several weeks — it’s important that he knows where everything is in case I have to call from the road […]

Her love of color, vintage clothing, mid century modern style and poolside chic is so evident in this gorgeous collection. Her outdoor collection is of woven fabrics dyed with a special solution for acrylic yarns to keep them from fading and are highly durable. I love […]

Organize Books by Color

I want to share a cabinet of curiosities from my home because you may appreciate seeing how a visual person organizes design + decorating books. This isn’t anything new, I’ve seen others organize their books according to the spine color for ages, but because I never liked seeing rainbow-filled walls of books on multiple shelves, the idea of organizing books by color didn’t impress me. I guess because the last thing I want is for my book collection to become the focal point in my living room. So I found a way around it that is stylish, understated and functional.

Great Read: Pulled – A Catalog of Screen Printing By Mike Perry

I have a great book that just landed on my desk called Pulled – A Catalog of Screen Printing by Mike Perry published by Princeton Architectural Press. Have you come across it yet? If you love screen-printed works of art with a focus on modern, graphics and bright colors this book is for you. Pulled is a big boy — a hefty 250+ pages and contains over 40 of Perry’s favorite designers to, “Remind us that there are some things you just can’t achieve with digital printing”, which is so true.

Get Creative With The Granimator App!

If you love art and have an iPad or iPhone you’re going to love me in about 5 seconds! Maybe this should be over in the Technology blog on Simply Stated but I cannot resist talking about the Granimator here because I figure creatives read decorating blogs and naturally are interested in anything that even remotely has to do with artistic things, am I right? But yes, the Granimator. The huh? No, this isn’t something that you expect…
