This ingenious trick will not only save you time, it will save your salads too: Need to mix some greens together beforehand but don’t want to end up with a wilted mess on your hands? Just layer the salad ingredients.
Take a bowl and place a layer of salad dressing at the bottom. Next, add your wilt-resistant vegetables and add-ins like carrots, peppers, cucumbers, and nuts. Top this off with your choice of salad greens and then cover the bowl with a damp paper towel to protect the salad, and refrigerate for up to 12 hours.
When it’s time to serve the salad, remove the towel and add in any delicate items like croutons or cheeses and mix together. Bon appétit!
