Last week, I had the honor and privilege of getting a facial at Just Be, (justbeskinline.com), from owner Negin Niknejad.
Often, a professional facial consists of many white clinical-looking bottles and high-tech machinery; they’re all wonderful, but they don’t add up to an experience that can easily be replicated at home. Not so, Negin’s Papaya mask, which was one part of the heavenly treatment I received.
Here’s what you need: Fresh papaya, ground flax seeds, and plain yogurt.
• Cut up and mash the papaya, add enough ground flax seeds to keep the mask together, and then mix in one tablespoon of the yogurt. The consistency should be thick and not too runny.
• Leave the mixture on clean skin for about ten minutes. Some tingling may occur because the papaya has enzymes that dissolve dead skin. Rinse off.
Though the skin-brightening results are impressive, the mask itself is not so aggressive that you couldn’t do it more than once a week.
