Wednesday Trivia: Your Brain on Knitting

hair-treated_300Is knitting the “new” walking? According to, the craft may be linked to improving mood, deceasing anxiety, and may even prevent against dementia.

In fact, a survey of more than 3,500 knitters found that 81% of respondents with depression reported feeling happy after knitting. More than half reported feeling “very happy.”

    I have been knitting for a bit over 12 years now. I started when I got out of the hospital and I needed something to do. I signed up at a local yarn store for lessons and I have been going going ever since. I most of the time have a project with me. I also have an item to show for all my time. I love it.
