• Scratching their nose. The adrenaline rush of lying can cause capillaries to expand, making the nose itch.
• Prolonged eye contact. A liar doesn’t want to come off as shifty, so he or she may overcompensate by staring for too long.
• Hiding their hands. If a confidant shoves her hands into her pockets or clasps them behind her back, proceed carefully; those are signs of dishonesty.
