A Quick Way to Sweeten Peas

spring-pea-salad_300Fresh peas add a sweet, delicate crunch to any meal. The next time you cook with the veggie and find the taste isn’t quite to your liking, use this method to brighten them up.

Steam the peas for a minute or two, and then run them under cold water (which stops the cooking process). This will bring out the natural sugars and make your peas more tender.

And remember: The fresher the pea, the sweeter the taste.
