Chinese New Year Cupcake

Tomorrow officially marks the Chinese/Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Horse. It’s a 15-day celebration filled with firecrackers, dancing lions, red packets filled with money, and—of course—lots of food. If you don’t feel like cooking up a whole fish or long-life noodles, you can still get in on the festivities by whipping up these Good Luck Cupcakes. Bake your own, or start with store-bought cupcakes—it’s all about the decorations: red frosting with a sprinkle of gold decorating sugar, topped off by a fortune cookie. It may not be traditional, but it’s still a fun way to celebrate.
