Making exercise resolutions for 2014? You may want to invest in a new TV show, too—research shows that watching a personal television while exercising allows people to move at a much higher intensity (thus burning more calories) than those with no entertainment.
Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak recommends choosing a show on a video streaming service like Netflix, and making a pact with yourself to only watch new episodes when you’re working out. Says Pasternak, “Not only does it make your workouts easier, but you end up looking forward to them more. If you can only watch Breaking Bad when you’re on the treadmill, you’re going to find yourself wishing there were more hours in the day to work out!”
