How to Ship Cookies

Christmas Cookies

If you’re sending holiday treats, follow this advice to ensure the goods get to their destination in one piece:

• Send your sturdiest specialties. Unfortunately Grandma’s butter cookies might be too delicate. Sturdier cookies—like Salted Oatmeal Cookies With Dark Chocolate or Simple Sugar Cookies—are more likely to survive the journey.
• Properly pack the box. Nestle baked goods in an air-tight plastic container lined with wax paper. Fill any empty space in the box with bubble wrap.
• Choose a quick shipping method. It may be pricey to ship overnight, but the faster the cookies arrive, the fresher they’ll be. If you can’t spring for overnight shipping, send early in the week so the goods won’t sit in a warehouse over the weekend.
