If you’re travelling this holiday season, it might be time to rethink your luggage choice. According to a recent study conducted by T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, the majority of travelers own black luggage, making it easy to confuse your bag for someone else’s at baggage claim.

To avoid luggage mix-ups during the already chaotic holiday travel season, choose standout baggage and travel accessories in bold colors and patterns.

What color bags should you choose? The study shows gray, pink, purple, brown, navy, orange, and multicolored bags are the least popular among travelers.

Or double-knot a large gaudy ribbon to the handle of your preexisting black bag. Works for me.

I have a unique red suitcase and it has been taken TWICE, because people assume that no one else will have the same suitcase. At least with boring black ones people are forced to check that it is indeed their suitcase.

I painted a unique design all around the edges of my suitcase which can be seen no matter the direction of the case on the carousel. Unlike tags and ribbons, the paint stays on the suitcase.
