Shopping Tips for Tall Women

If you’re blessed with a little extra length, you probably already pay close attention to inseams and where to find jeans and pants that won’t look like waders. But don’t forget to look for sources for the other half of your body as well.

“Tall”-specific tops will be cut a little longer (and have longer sleeves as well) without sacrificing the slim fit or tailoring of a well-fitted shirt. Having trouble finding tops in a “tall” cut? Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy make (almost) every one of their tops and tees in a tall (as well as regular and petite).

The companies you mention make SOME of their tops in tall sizes, but unfortunately not anything close to “(almost) every one.” Eddie Bauer, although their clothes are not generally my taste, does make many of its tops in tall as well.

Agreed. I’ve almost never bought from the three mentioned (all one company) because of lack of options or always being sold out. Topshop also has a Tall department and ASOS sells some clothes in longer lengths. Thankfully most jeans etc. come in very long lengths nowadays. It’s skirts and dresses that I find hardest. They are always too short, a mini on a tall girl becomes innaproriately mini.
