Watermelon Pops

Watermelon is one of summer’s tastiest treats. To ensure you get a winner, look for oblong or well-rounded melons that sound hollow when slapped. The rind should be dull and just barely give to firm pressure. Steer clear of fruit that has flat or soft spots and punctures in the rind.

Watermelon! Great post it isn’t as easy to tell as it is with other fruits.

My uncle used to grow watermelons in South Texas. Look at the light spot where it sat on the ground. If the spot is white, it’s ripe!

Also look for little black pearls stuck to the melon…. It’s sugar! That means its definitely sweet! Still, slap or knock at it and make sure it has no soft mushy spots. The melon is so sweet it’s oozing out sugar-sap.
