If you’re growing tired of traditional summer fare (hotdogs, hamburgers, grilled corn), turn up the heat with these three tasty and unique options:
Cheese. Cook firm, salty cheeses, like halloumi (a Mediterranean-style cheese), directly on the grill over medium heat until blistered. Wrap softer cheeses that crumble or melt, like feta or brie, in foil and heat until warmed through.
Sweets. Toss halved doughnuts on the grill until toasted and any glaze or frosting is melted. Pound cake also tastes great with a smoky flair. Simply spread butter onto a slice of cake and grill until toasted.
Fruit. Slice pineapples into spears and grill over direct heat until caramelized. Or, halves bananas (in their peels) and cook until soft to upgrade a banana split.
