4 Ways to Repel Mosquitoes

If you have an outdoor shindig planned for this weekend or next, you’re no doubt wishing that all the mosquitoes in your vicinity would just bug off! Here’s how to make it happen (more or less).

1. A week before the party, empty any containers filled with standing water (that’s where mosquitoes breed). Dump the kiddie pool, check the rain gutters, and turn over the flower pots in case they’ve collected water.

2. Get some fans. Mosquitoes are weak flyers, so even a fan set on low will keep them off your deck. A tabletop fan on your buffet will stop from landing on the potato salad, too.

3. Hand out bug wipes. They won’t scent the air, and they work just as well as spray. Look for products that contain repellent picaridin instead of DEET.

4. Invest in a bug-repelling gadget. Check out our list of the best options on the market.

Don’t have time to get prepared? Don’t worry. We’ve got a handy list of bug bite remedies!

Great article! We here at Mosquito Squad recommend the 5 T’s to keep mosquitoes away:
    1. Tip – Reduce standing water to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, including those underneath and around downspouts, in plant saucers and dog bowls.
    2. Toss – Excess grass, leaves, piles, fire wood.
    3. Turn – Turn over larger items like children’s sandboxes, wagons or plastic toys. Remove
    4. Tarp – If tarps stretched over firewood piles, boats or sports equipment aren’t taut, they’re holding water.
    5. Treat – Utilize a mosquito elimination barrier treatment around the home and yard, such as Mosquito Squad. Using a barrier treatment at home reduces the need for using DEET-containing bug spray.

Put up bat houses, find them at local hardware stores or build your own. Bats will eat around 2000 Mosquitos per night per bat. Order guano put up house and bats will move in before you k ow it. It is effective and chemical free. Let Mother Nature take care of your biting little pests.

Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform
are you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because
I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another
platform. I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
