How to Keep Your Kid Calm During a Haircut

Does getting his haircut make your toddler anxious? Instead of getting snippy with him, use these three strategies to keep him calm.

-Getting sprayed with water can be startling. Ask the stylist to spritz the comb (not your child’s head).

-The high-necked capes at salons can be constricting. Bring a familiar oversize T-shirt instead.

-The big mirrors (and seeing the reflection of the scissors!) can be daunting. Play a video on your iPad, or read a book out loud to provide a distraction.
